Bikes, Frames & bike fitting.

Road bike fit - saddle height: Your saddle height is dependant on your inside leg length, but in addition the amount you sink into your saddle, the thickness of the soles of your shoes, your crank length and pedal stack height need to be taken into account. The saddle height is usually quoted as a measurement from the bottom bracket centre, so to ensure the variables listed above are taken into account, it is essential that the saddle, pedals, shoes and crank length are the same on the jig as they will be on your bike.
Bike fit - Knee pain.: Knee pain whilst cycling can be caused by a range of problems, although saddle height, saddle set-back and incorrect cleat placement account for most of these issues. Some extra words
If I have a bike fitting does it mean I will need a custom built frame?: In most cases the answer would be no. Once we have determined your position dimensions, providing you have a suitable sized frame it is a matter of setting the saddle and bars to the correct position. Although the frame dimensions we know allow you to obtain your required position will be determined during the fitting, these resulting frame dimensions can be compared to those of any standard off the peg frame. It is then possible to see what make, model and size of frame is most suitable and also confirm that the dimensions of your chosen frame will allow your required position to be obtained.
